Up to 85% of people can expect to have at least one episode of low back pain in their lives. This can be caused by many factors and most often is related to a sedentary lifestyle. Sitting for long periods of time leads to deconditioning which negatively effects your joints and muscles. It also causes fatigue and stress to the spinal discs. Unfortunately, three quarters of workers sit for a prolonged period of time.
The good news is that chiropractic is one of the safest and most effective treatments for low back pain. A study in 2004 (a randomized controlled trial) found that patients who were treated with chiropractic adjustments combined with exercise reported significant improvement at 3 and 12 month follow-ups.
